How to Adopt
Because we cannot have a member of our team present during all of the store’s hours, we’ve tried to make our adoption process as easy as possible!
If there is no one present to let you adopt one of our pets, please follow these steps:
1. Complete the adoption application (below!). Submission of the application using the form below notifies our staff immediately! If we receive your application outside of our normal business hours, we will contact you the following business day!
2. A member of our team will contact you to set up a time to meet the cats at the adoption center! If you have not received a response to your application within 48 hours, please send a text to: 757-250-7256.
3. During the meet and greet, you can ask any questions you have about the pet. You will be permitted to take the cat home that same day, so be prepared! All of our cats are required to leave the adoption center in a carrier designed for live animal transport! Luckily, our PetSmart adopters receive a coupon book with coupons for free and discounted items!
Adoption Requirements:
- You must be 18 years old with a valid government ID.
- $100 adoption fee. We accept cash or credit card.
- Everyone in your home agrees to adopt the pet.
- We advise all adopters to make sure the type of pet the wish to adopt is permitted to reside in their home.
