The Board of Directors at Portsmouth Humane Society hosted an informal donor appreciation event at Artisan’s on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Julie Sell, local Coldwell Banker realtor, presents a $1,946 check to the shelter’s new Executive Director, Babs Zuhowski. Previously, Director of Annual Giving and Special Events at The Williams School in Norfolk, Zuhowski bring years of fundraising experience and a deep affinity for animal welfare to PHS.
PHS is the oldest continually operating shelter in the Commonwealth of Virginia – founded in 1889 and is dedicated to caring for homeless animals in the community by promoting their adoptions into loving, permanent homes. PHS also provides education and community outreach programs to help decrease the pet overpopulation problem.
